To meet the increasing demand for a better life quality, College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CPS) was established in 2002, and formally activated in 2015. CPS aims to provide high-quality education of pharmaceutical sciences and health risk assessment of drug and food. There are three teaching and research units in CPS as follows. (1) Institute of Biopharmaceutical Sciences was established in 1994 and currently offers Master and Ph.D. programs. (2) Department of Pharmacy was established in 2016 and offers a 6-year Pharm. D. program and a master program with a complete curriculum encompassing pharmaceutical sciences, clinical pharmacy, social and administrative pharmacy. (3) Institute of Food Safety and Health Risk Assessment was established in 2017 and offers a master program.
In addition to intramural activities, multifaceted internship programs, including pharmacy training by a network of clinical sites, are designed for students’ interests and career goals. To fulfill the internship training in industries, we have close collaboration with multinational companies, including AbbVie, MSD, Pfizer, Roche and Viatris as well as local biotech companies, including Lihpao Life Science Corp, Medigen Vaccine Biologics Corp, X Intelligence Inc, Synmosa Group, and Orient EuroPharma.
To encourage our students to have global visions, we have connections with many prestigious institutes internationally to provide our students opportunities to pursue advanced degrees, take courses and fulfill internships abroad. Specifically, CPS has close collaboration in teaching, research and exchange students’ activities with Kyushu University, Hokkaido university and Nippon Pharmaceutical University from Japan, Michigan University from U.S.A., National Institute of Medicinal Materials, Ton Duc Thang University, Hanoi University of Pharmacy and Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Vietnam, Universiti Malaya from Malaysia.
The ultimate goal of CPS is to cultivate top-notched professionals with expertises in innovative biomedical research and drug development, food and drug safety, and clinical pharmacy as well as to provide a sustainable positive impact to our society and to the earth as well.
